2018 USA Trip – Week 4

Week 4 none work hours have been a lot more chillaxed (much needed) compared to the previous weeks.

It was the 4th of July on Wednesday. As exciting as the day was. We decided to not go into DC or downtown Annapolis for the fireworks and crowd. Instead, we had a BBQ (grills for the US crowd) and chill time in the pool, followed by firework on the TV.

We did have a brief moment of panic and distraught when we found out the nearby pizza place closed early. We had to get frozen pizzas and wings from the supermaket instead. 😂

On Saturday, I went to the National Cryptologic Museum to learn a bit about the world’s code and cipher history from a great and very enthusiastic tour guide. I got the chance to see the Bambe which is a machine that Alan Turing helped create and used to break the Enigma machine’s encryption during World War II. 👨‍💻

Oh, I also saw a groundhog loitering next to a freeway and had Cuban food after the museum! 🐾🍛

I spent a lot of time on YouTube today watching meal prep videos. Thinking about doing some dietary changes when I return to Australia and start some cutting (gym buddy anyone?). I have never been good with eating my vegies before, but my general laziness with cooking during the week is more of a problem. So eating healthier and staying on budget is going to be a challenge!

I also picked up my hire car today. It took a while to organise but now I have a lot more flexibility on going to and from work and general moving about. Driving on the left hand side on the car on the right hand side of the road has been super trippy so far! 🚗🚗🚗
